A dedicated community support helpline has been  established  by Wicklow County Council and supporting stakeholders  to assist at risk members of the public in accessing non-emergency and non-medical supports and advice during the current public health emergency. The confidential phone line service was  established by the new COVID-19 County Wicklow Community Response Forum, which includes over a dozen agencies and organisations.

The Helpline is focused primarily on ensuring that vulnerable members of the community or those living alone can access deliveries of groceries, medicine and fuels.   In some instances, transport of vulnerable persons to test centres will be provided.  The role of the Forum is to ensure that there is a coordinated community response and to enable all voluntary statutory agencies to collaborate in support of our communities and particularly of our most vulnerable members.

The FREE contact number is 1800 868 399 with the lines open from 8am to 8pm seven days a week. Contact email address for this new service is covidsupport@wicklowcoco.ie. Any vulnerable members of the public or persons wishing to volunteer should be advised to contact this free phone number – 1800 868 399.

A couple of volunteers from each area will act as co-ordinators and allocate the various requests from the support line to the many volunteer individuals and groups in their areas

Camile Thai, a new restaurant in Greystones is here to spread the good cheer and healthy traditions of Thai food to Greystones. Before you order, kindly scratch any idea you have of a typical Asian takeaway. We deliver a meal experience unlike any other, using high quality Thai ingredients (like holy basil and galangal).  Dishes  are calorie counted and made to order by trained wok chefs in our kitchen. It’s slow food, done fast. And most importantly, we think it tastes really good.
If you’ve been to Thailand, you’ll know it as a place of vibrance and celebration – things that are better when everyone can join in. Our selection of dairy-free mains, gluten-free and vegan dishes help bring people of all dietary needs together for a good meal.

Bochellis

Back to Restaurants

Our guests say it all. “At lunch the other day in Bochelli’s Italian Seafood Restaurant with a few friends, I chose the seafood medley from the range of menu standards and specials on offer. The medley was a generous combination of poached salmon, hake, prawns, mussels and little boiled potatoes, all brought together by a light, saffron-tinged sauce. Quite delicious!

Proprietor Declan is always on hand at the end of the meal to receive personal feedback and appreciation. Combining quality and value, and a friendly atmosphere, Bochelli’s is very warmly recommended”

Best seafood around and their pizzas are amazing! Love it and great for kids!

The Three Q’s

By | Cafes, Restaurants

Back to Restaurants

The three Q’s is named after the three Quinn brothers who run it, Brian, Paul and Colin,

They like making things from scratch, such as ketchup and mayonnaise. That means a soda bread with Cheddar and red onion, calamari that don’t have industrial grade lagging jackets of batter on them but a more fragile coating of chilli flecked batter. The main of the night could be the mushroom Wellington. It’s a vegetarian dish presented with two pointy cones of pastry filled with a nutty breadcrumb and mushroom mixture.

Beside it there might be a parsnip and pear gratin topped with apple, onion and freshly-dressed salad leaves, the pear turning up the volume on the sweetness of the parsnip just enough without tipping it over the edge – accompanied by a brown booze, butter and cream sauce that’s classically perfect.

The Three Q’s is a great little restaurant which always has interesting menu items for meat lovers and vegetarians alike.  There is an excellent wine list also.

The Happy Pear

By | Restaurants

Back to Restaurants

The Happy Pear started out back in 2004 with a small veg shop and a big dream. Dave & Steve had been travelling the world and as twin power goes, on opposite sides of the world they switched to a plant-based diet within a week of each other. The Happy Pear seed was sown.

The brand has slowly been building for 14 years. First came the shop, then the cafe, followed by the farm, the product range and the roastery. Then came the learning with both online and classroom Happy Heart Courses. And last, the digital avalanche; Part of Jamie Olivers Foodtube network, a successful Youtube channel, multiple digital awards as well as Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and everything in between.

A family business with family values at its core. Donal & Ismay (or Mama & Papa pear as they’re known!) and younger brother Darragh are involved in the business as well as we have a thriving international team all helping to make the world a healthier, happier place.  Our goal is to create a community, an environment people enjoy coming to and are supported in their efforts to make change. Our passion lies in our craft. Our craft is continually evolving so that we can give our lovely customers what they want. From growing fresh produce to producing wholesome products, from creating simple recipes to teaching healthy habits, from serving customers to spreading happiness and everything in between.
