Back to Theatre & the Arts

In 1965 Jim Provost and Sam French together with Jack Sutton, Dr Ryan Tittle, Angela Devereaux and Marian Fagan set up the Greystones Art Group.

The main purpose of the group was, and still is today, to encourage amateur artists. Our aim is to advance our members artistic knowledge and skills through on-going lectures and demonstrations. In addition, we also facilitate an Annual Exhibition of paintings and other works of art, for all our members, both amateur and professional.

Founded in 2015 by Kat Lyons, East Coast Academy of Performing Arts caters to every age and level of performer. Classes currently run in Greystones, Co. Wicklow and Rush, Co. Dublin.  We love to prepare our younger Stage School members for performances.  Our coaches also; provide private dance lessons to wedding couples, bridal parties and hen dos, assist in the organisation of fundraisers and social events and supply performers, choreographers and directors for theatrical productions and promotional events.

Kat was a typical “theatre kid” growing up and attended singing, dancing and drama classes throughout her childhood. Having studied dance at Bray Institute of Further Education for three years.  Kat graduated from the University of Sunderland with a BA Hons in Dance and Musical Theatre.

Since then she has worked for several stage schools and musical societies around Ireland and continues to choreograph musicals and pantomimes throughout the East Coast. Kat established the East Coast Academy of Performing Arts to share with her students in Greystones & Rush her love for the stage and the knowledge and experience that she has gained over the years.
