The story of the Andrews Sisters featuring the Honeydews and their band. The Andrews Sisters, legendary singing trio of the 1930s, 40s and 50s are the most successful female singing group in history. They were the first female act to achieve a Gold Record Award and the best selling female vocal group ever, a record which still remains, unsurpassed! In fact, only The Beatles sold more records! With their precise harmonies the girls reached heights of world wide fame. However, behind the all American smiles, their personal relations were far from harmonious. All-Irish singing group, The Honeydews bring their story to life, delving into the real story of America’s Wartime Sweethearts, through their hits, and the highs and lows of their career.
The Honeydews, three classy ladies with lots of attitude, have been performing for almost ten years, bringing their lively and sophisticated act to venues and summer festivals around Ireland. Backed by their versatile 5 piece band, the Honeydews capture the vibrant mood and classy, sophisticated style of the good-time Boogie-Woogie era. They revisit the swing and big band sounds of the Andrews Sisters, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and the modern day sounds of (among others) The Puppini Sisters and Post Modern Jukebox. The Honeydews have long been inspired by the intricate and close harmonies of The Andrews Sisters and look forward to sharing their story with you.
The Honeydews feature 3 female vocalists, Fidelma, Erica and Alex backed by a five-piece brass band
